The Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 released a little over a week ago has been going great guns at the box office. After a stellar opening day, the business of the film continued to hold steady over its first week, with the second-weekend collections showing an increase. In fact, KGF 2 managed to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark within just 11 days of its release.
In this box office report, we look at the second-weekend collections of KGF – Chapter 2 while comparing the same to releases that have hit the big screen post the pandemic. Collecting Rs. 52.49 cr on weekend two, KGF 2 ranks as the second-highest second weekend grosser post the pandemic. Though the business of the film does not surpass the collections of the previous release The Kashmir Files collected Rs. 70.15 cr, it does manage to out beat certain other releases like RRR which collected Rs. 52 cr, Sooryavanshi which collected Rs. 30.57 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 23.29 cr, 83 which collected Rs. 19.4 cr, and Pushpa which had collected Rs. 10.31 cr.
As of now, KGF – Chapter 2 continues to run to packed theatres, with the audience patronizing the film in large numbers. Interestingly, KGF 2 has managed to emerge as the first choice in theatres despite the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey hitting screens. Currently, trade predictions state that KGF 2 has collected Rs. 321.12 cr so far will near the Rs. 350 cr mark by the end of its second week running.
