The much talked about and keenly anticipated Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 released a while back. After a stellar opening the business of the film continued to see growth in collections with each passing week. Now, in its third week running KGF 2 has managed to hold its own in theatres despite new releases hitting screens.
In this box office report, we look at the third week collections of KGF – Chapter 2 while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 49.14 cr, KGF 2 has become the second all-time highest third week grosser. Though the film does not surpass the SS Rajamouli directorial Baahublai 2 – The Conclusion which collected Rs. 69.75 cr, it does manage to out beat other big ticket Bollywood entertainers like Dangal which collected Rs. 46.35 cr, PK which collected Rs. 41.61 cr, Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior which collected Rs. 40.42 cr, and RRR which had collected Rs. 38.20 cr amongst others.
Going forward, KGF – Chapter 2 which still continues to run, is expected to face competition from the new release in the form of the Hollywood mega film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, despite the fact that the new release has occupied a major number of screens, trade predictions state that KGF 2 which has collected Rs. 401.80 cr will continue its run at the box office inching its way closer to the Rs. 450 cr mark.
