The Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari released last week on Holi. Enjoying a festive release, the film had a four day extended weekend that gave its box office business an incredible boost.

Collecting Rs. 105.86 cr in its first week Kesari has managed to surpass the first week business of the Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy that had collected Rs. 100.3 cr to become the highest first week grosser of 2019. Apart from Gully Boy, Akshay Kumar’s Kesari has managed to outperform other releases as well like, Total Dhamaal that collected Rs. 94.55 cr, Uri - The Surgical Strike that collected Rs. 70.94 cr, Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi that collected Rs. 58.95 cr, Luka Chuppi that collected Rs. 53.7 cr, Badla that collected Rs. 38 cr, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga that collected Rs. 17.19 cr, and The Accidental Prime Minister that collected Rs. 17.1 cr.
Currently, Kesari still continues to hold strong at the box office despite new releases hitting screens. In fact trade predictions state that the business of Kesari will see an increase in collections over its second weekend.
