Karthikeya 2 the sequel to the 2014 Telugu film Karthikeya, directed by Chandoo Mondeti hit screens last week. Starring Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher the film opened to a good response from the audience. In fact, the business of Karthikeya 2 has been seeing an upward trend, aided by the lacklustre performance of mainstream releases. Interestingly, in the overseas markets as well Karthikeya 2 has been faring rather well.
At the North American box office Karthikeya 2 that hit screens last week on Friday, has managed to draw in Rs. 8.03 cr. over its opening weekend. With Rs. 7.97 cr. coming in from U.S.A where the film hit a total of 120 screens and a further Rs. 6.75 lakhs coming in from Canada where the film released in 2 screens, the business of Karthikeya 2 has posted rather good collection figures.
Currently, with audience patronizing the film, and the fact that most mainstream releases have been rejected, the business prospects of Kartikeya 2 are bright. In fact, trade opines that the collections of the Telugu film are certain to see further growth over its first week.
