With Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan becomes the founding member of Bollywood’s 600 crore club

After his incredible comeback with Pathaan at the start of this year, there were massive expectations from Shah Rukh Khan’s next release, Jawan. The film’s box office performance has not only matched the expectations but also surpassed them. After entering the Rs. 500 Crores Club last month, the Atlee directorial has now become the first Bollywood movie to go past Rs. 600 crores as it currently stands at Rs. 607.21 crores (in all languages).

This has also made Shah Rukh Khan as Bollywood’s founding member of the Rs. 600 crore club. In his over 30-year-old career, the actor has had a series of successes. Now, Jawan becomes a major feather in his cap.

But that’s not all. SRK, earlier in the year, also became the first Bollywood actor to reach Rs. 400 Crores as well as Rs. 500 Crores Clubs with Pathaan if we look at Bollywood films. If we consider the Hindi dubbed films to achieve this, the record belongs to SS Rajamouli’s epic blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film’s Hindi version entered the Rs. 400 Crores and Rs. 500 Crores Clubs back in 2017. Last year, Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2 became another Hindi dubbed film to enter Rs. 400 Crores Club.

Produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Girija Oak, Priya Mani, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Aaliyah Qureishi, among others. The film had released in theatres on September 7.
