The Drishyam franchise has come a long way at the box office, and the opening-day numbers of its three films tell that story rather clearly. Drishyam The Conclusion, the latest and final chapter of the Ajay Devgn-led franchise, has opened with a massive Rs. 62.03 crore at the India box office.

To put that number into perspective, the original Drishyam had opened at just Rs. 5.80 crore when it released in 2015. The film gradually built strong word of mouth and went on to establish the foundation for what would eventually become one of Hindi cinema's most recognised crime-thriller franchises.
Drishyam 2, released in 2022, took a significant leap forward. The sequel opened at Rs. 15.38 crore, almost three times the opening of the first film. It eventually went on to enjoy a hugely successful theatrical run, with the franchise's popularity growing considerably between the two releases.
Now, Drishyam The Conclusion has taken that growth to another level. Its Rs. 62.03 crore opening is more than four times the opening of Drishyam 2, representing an increase of Rs. 46.65 crore. Compared with the original Drishyam, the latest instalment has opened a staggering Rs. 56.23 crore higher, or more than 10 times the first film's Day 1 business.
The progression is particularly interesting because the franchise has not followed the traditional pattern of relying on increasingly larger-scale action or spectacle. Instead, the growth has come largely from the strength of the characters, the recall value of the story and the anticipation surrounding the concluding chapter.
There is also a clear progression in the three opening days: Rs. 5.80 crore for Drishyam, Rs. 15.38 crore for Drishyam 2 and Rs. 62.03 crore for Drishyam The Conclusion.
With its latest chapter, the franchise has therefore gone from a modest Rs. 5.80 crore opening in 2015 to a blockbuster-level Rs. 62.03 crore start in 2026, marking a remarkable evolution for the Drishyam series at the box office.
