The Saket Chaudhary directed film Hindi Medium released in China a few days ago. Starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar the film opened with a bang at the China box office, managing to surpass the opening day collections of previous releases like the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal. Now on its fifth day running in China, the business of Hindi Medium has seen a slight dip in collections.
Collecting USD 1.73 million [Rs. 11.22 cr] on Day 5 the business of Hindi Medium has fallen behind when compared to Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dangal that had collected USD 1.79 million [Rs. 11.63 cr] and 3.52 mil USD [Rs. 22.74 cr.] respectively. However, the cumulative five day earnings of Hindi Medium are compared to the other releases, the film that has managed to draw in USD 21.31 million [Rs. 138.26 cr] till date out beats the five day collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected USD 12.05 million [Rs. 78.28 cr], but the collections of Hindi Medium narrowly misses surpassing the collections of Dangal that had collected USD 21.81 million [Rs. 141.55 cr].
Now, though the business of Hindi Medium at the China box office is slowing down the collections of the film are expected to cross the Rs. 150 cr mark in the coming days.
