Soorma had a decent weekend at the Box Office as Rs. 13.85 crore came in. The film saw a fair start on Friday and then showed growth on Saturday as well as Sunday. On both these days though there was a major sports event. Though India v/s England cricket match on Saturday didn't make much of an impact, Sunday Footfall World Cup Finals between France and Croatia did pull audiences off theatres to a good extent.
Still, the numbers so far have given Soorma a chance to battle it out at the Box Office. If the collections are over Rs. 2.50 crore on Monday then it would still be decent enough as the rest of the weekdays can then be expected to stay over Rs. 2 crore mark though. However anything lesser than that would mean that Soorma would have to settle for a low lifetime number since in second weekend it would have to contend with Dhadak and Skyscraper.
As for the Hollywood films, there is yet another affair from the West which is bringing in good numbers. Ant-Man And The Wasp has managed to go past the Rs. 20 crore mark over the weekend as the collections stand at Rs. 19.30 crore. This has set the stage for the Marvel film to aim for the Rs. 50 crore lifetime, which would be good enough to make it count as yet another superhero success in India.
The film's success has thrown in a pleasant surprise and rest assured there would be good footfalls in the coming week as well when Skyscraper and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation arrive.
