On Tuesday, Sanju brought in another Rs. 2.25 crore and that has taken the film’s lifetime to Rs. 321.57 crore. With this, the film has now gone past the lifetime numbers of Bajrangi Bhaijaan which had accumulated Rs. 321 crore. Incidentally, this happened on the day when the Salman Khan starrer was celebrating three years of release. The film had released on July 17, 2015 and now on July 17, 2018, its lifetime record has been broken by the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. What’s further special about this is the fact that while Bajrangi Bhaijaan was an Eid release, Sanju had no holiday whatsoever to support its run.
Ant-Man And The Wasp is also slowing down as only Rs. 2 crore* more came in on Tuesday. The film’s collections stand at Rs. 23.80 crore* and though prior to release one would have expected a number in vicinity of this to be its lifetime collections, the fact that the opening was good resulted in higher expectations.
As for Soorma, the film collected Rs. 1.94 crore and though it is hanging on reasonably well, the collections are still not the kind that would warrant a big hold in the second week. The film’s total currently stands at Rs. 17.79 crore which means its first week total would be lesser than Diljit Dosanjh‘s Phillauri. That film had brought in Rs. 22.68 crore in its first week and Soorma may fall short by around 1 crore.
All in all, a low day at the Box Office, especially after some very good run that had been evidenced for last few weeks. Hopefully things would perk up all over again when Dhadak arrives this Friday.
