The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film Bharat released yesterday across 4000 screens in the domestic market. Starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, and Sunil Grover the film was expected to take a massive start at the box office. And living up to expectations, Bharat has managed to rock the box office on its opening day with a staggering collection of Rs. 42.3 cr.

- Highest opening day ever for a Salman Khan film
With a massive opening that far surpassed expectations, Bharat has managed to become Salman Khan’s highest opening day grosser. Collecting Rs. 42.3 cr Bharat has out beaten the actor’s previous releases by quite a bit. In fact, coming in second is the Salman Khan film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 40.35 cr.
- Highest opening day of 2019
Apart from being Salman Khan’s highest opening day grosser, the Day 1 business of Bharat has also surpassed the opening day collections of all 2019 Bollywood releases so far. Not surprisingly, Bharat has out beaten other 2019 releases by a wide margin surpassed the second film on the list Kalank that had collected Rs. 21.60 cr by a whopping Rs. 20+ cr.
- Third highest opening day all time
While Bharat has become Salman Khan and this year’s highest opening day grosser, when compared to all time releases, Bharat comes in a close third behind the previous releases Thugs Of Hindostan that drew in Rs. 52.25 cr, and Happy New Year that had collected Rs. 44.97 cr.
- Salman Khan’s biggest Eid opener
Over the years Salman Khan has literally become the only celebrity whose releases are focused on hitting screens on Eid. And continuing the same with Bharat, Salman has given his fans an entertaining Eidi. Interestingly, when compared to the actor’s previous Eid releases Bharat that collected Rs. 42.3 cr is Salman’s biggest Eid opener with Sultan that collected Rs. 36.54 cr coming in second and Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 32.93 cr coming in third.

Another feat accomplished by the staggering opening day collections of Bharat is its entry as one of the highest all-time biggest single day grossers. Coming in at number seven Bharat is more than likely to feature yet again in this list especially since the business of the film is expected to see further growth as the weekend draws near.
