Back in 2011, Ra.One had done a lifetime business of Rs. 114 crore at the Box Office. Now in 2017, Shah Rukh Khan's newest release Raees has gone past that mark in 8 days flat. On Wednesday, the film collected Rs. 6.50 crore* more at the Box Office. With this, its overall total stands at Rs. 115.51 crore*.
In fact the film has also gone past the lifetime total of Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 [Rs. 107 crore]. The next target is Jab Tak Hai Jaan which had accumulated a lifetime sum of Rs. 122 crore. That number should be crossed by tomorrow which would make Raees Shah Rukh Khan's fourth highest grosser ever after Chennai Express [Rs. 227 crore], Happy New Year [Rs. 205 crore] and Dilwale [Rs. 148 crore]. What has to be seen though is whether Raees eventually goes past Dilwale too and becomes Shah Rukh Khan's third highest grosser till date.
His Dilwale too had clashed with Bajirao Mastani while Raees has clashed with Kaabil. On the other hand Chennai Express and Happy New Year had arrived solo. Now his next release The Ring/Rahnuma is arriving solo too on the weekend leading to the Independence Day and one looks forward to a biggie in the offing then.
