New Friday, and a new start. While the weeks gone by have been quite demoralizing for Bollywood movies at the box office, 'ummeed par duniya kayam hai' and one just hopes that there are better things awaiting audiences and Bollywood.
This Friday sees the release of Do Baaraa, a supernatural/horror film which also has its genesis in time travel. It's an unexplored territory for Bollywood and though a few films in this genre have been made in the past, one waits to see how Anurag Kashyap has treated the subject. Rest assured, it would be an original take on affairs for sure and one just hopes that perhaps that's just the kind of trigger point that the industry was looking for to bring in the change.
The filmmaker is returning with his Manmarziyaan leading lady Taapsee Pannu in an altogether new set up, and the actress has apparently come up with a notable performance. That said, it would all be seen by the audiences if they indeed step in. That's the real challenge in today's time because the whole 'word of mouth' factor is also going out of the window due to sheer lack of audiences on the opening day itself.
In this case too, one can expect a start in Rs. 30-50 lakhs range only but there is hope that if at least this segment ends up liking the film wholeheartedly, things will gain momentum over the weekend and who knows, this could well turn out to be just the kind of good news that Bollywood has been waiting for!
