Padmaavat is speeding ahead at an unimaginable pace. After a huge weekend that made it go past Rs. 200 crore mark in a jiffy, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is holding up quite well on the weekdays of the second week as well.
On Monday, Rs. 7 crore more came in which is just tremendous. There is very good patronage coming the film's way and to think of it, the numbers may well have crossed Rs. 10 crore mark had all the states been running Padmaavat.
Overall, the film's collections stand at Rs. 219.50 crore and by tomorrow the lifetime total of Chennai Express [Rs. 227 crore] and Kick [Rs. 232 crore] would be history. As a matter of fact Padmaavat is already the 10th biggest Bollywood grosser already and is set to go past Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3 as well. Once that happens, the film would find itself at the No. 6 slot of biggest grossers ever.
Sultan [Rs. 301.50 crore] would still be a farfetched target though possibly come into reach if all remaining states start screening Padmaavat as well.
All said and done, this Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer has emerged as a Rs. 300 crore material and it would be only the external factors that would prevent it from reaching that milestone.
