Naam Shabana had fair collections on Monday as it brought Rs. 2.54 crore at the Box Office. The overall numbers currently stand at Rs. 21.30 crore. This is in the same range as what Taapsee Pannu's Pink had collected [Rs. 21.50 crore] in its opening weekend itself. From this point on, the difference between Naam Shabana and Pink will grow as latter had been pushed much further ahead owing to all around positive word of mouth, and had settled with first week collections of Rs. 35.91 crore. What has to be seen though is if Jai Gangaajal first week of Rs. 30.15 crore would be surpassed as that's what Naam Shabana is competing with.
The film is a clear case of wait and watch as the reactions are polarized. Though it is definitely not in the same league as Baby, it is certainly not a letdown either, as some of the write-ups seem to convey. Same holds good for the performance of Taapsee Pannu as well which is seeing different reactions from critics, even though audiences have a different story to tell.
As things stand today, for a film of this genre, set up and starcast, the Shivam Nair narrated story is doing business which is in line with its merits and it would be a fair total eventually when it manages to reach the Rs. 35-37 crore lifetime mark.
