It is KGF - Chapter 2 (Hindi) all the way as the film is running riot and is collecting more than double of all the other films that are currently running in town. On Friday, the film brought in Rs. 11.56 crores and that’s brilliant considering Thursday was Rs. 13.58 crores and now Jersey has also released which has taken over a decent count of screens. Still, the film is doing more than double the collections of Jersey and RRR (Hindi) combined together which shows how the film is going to rule the roost for the rest of the weekend as well.
In fact it won’t be surprising if the collections are almost triple of the other films on Saturday since the growth should be quite good from this point on, considering it’s a set affair. That would make it go past the Rs. 300 crores mark by tomorrow morning itself since it’s already standing at Rs. 280.19 crores and there won’t be any stopping it from this point on.
Meanwhile, Jersey could collect only around Rs. 4 crores* though predictions were Rs. 6 crores as bare minimum. Given the credentials attached with the movie as well as the merits that it comes with, this number should have come basis its performance at the multiplexes. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case since the film just couldn’t end up flying in the evening and night shows. Hopefully that should happen now today and tomorrow so that Shahid Kapoor can get a weekend of at least Rs. 18-20 crores to his name.
