The David Dhawan directed film Judwaa 2 featuring Varun Dhawan in a double role hit screens yesterday. Also featuring Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu the film which is a remake of the Salman Khan starrer Judwaa opened on a good note. Released across 3500+ screens within the domestic market Judwaa 2 which has also received positive responses from the audience and critics is well on its way to become one of this year’s most success films.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Judwaa 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2017. Collections Rs. 16.10 cr Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 manages to out beat Shah Rukh Khan’s recent release Jab Harry Met Sejal that had collected Rs. 15.25 cr. apart from this Judwaa 2 has managed to perform better than other releases like Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 13.2 cr, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha that collected Rs. 13.1 cr, Baadshaho which collected Rs. 12.6 cr, Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 12.25 cr and Kaabil that had collected Rs. 10.43 cr.
On the other hand though, the collections of Judwaa 2 do not manage to surpass certain other releases like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 41 cr, Tubelight which collected Rs. 21.15 cr and Raees that collected Rs. 20.42 cr.
Now all that remains to be seen is whether Judwaa 2 which enjoys an extended weekend will emerge as one of the highest opening weekend grossers of 2017.
