It has been a week now since Golmaal Again that was directed by Rohit Shetty has been dominating the domestic box office. Release across 3500+ screens in India the film which is the fourth instalment in the Golmaal franchise received positive feedback from both the audience and critics alike.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening week collections of Golmaal Again while comparing the same to Rohit Shetty’s previous directorial ventures. Tough Golmaal Again has managed to draw in a staggering Rs. 136.07 cr in its opening week, the film ranks as Shetty’s second highest first week grosser with the director’s previous release Chennai Express that featured Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone firmly holding the first spot with an opening week collections of Rs. 156.7 cr.
On the other hand though, the opening week business of Golmaal Again does manage to surpass the collections of Rohit Shetty’s other directorial ventures like Singham Returns that collected Rs. 112.68 cr, Dilwale that collected Rs. 102.65 cr, Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 66.72 cr, Golmaal 3 that collected Rs. 62.19 cr and Singham that had collected Rs. 51.25 cr.
But with Golmaal Again still running in theatres coupled with the fact that the film faces little to no competition from previous and new releases in the coming week, all that remains to be seen is whether the overall business of Golmaal Again goes past the Rohit Shetty’s previous releases that have worked well at the box office.
