The Rohit Shetty directed film Golmaal Again hit screens on Friday. Starring Ajay Devgn alongside an ensemble cast the film which is the fourth instalment in the hit Golmaal franchise has opened on a good note with both the audience and critics taking a liking to the film.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening day collections of Golmaal Again while comparing the same to Ajay Devgn’s previously released films. Collecting Rs. 30.14 cr. on its first day at the box office Golmaal Again has managed to surpass Ajay’s previous Baadshaho that had collected Rs. 12.6 cr to become his second highest opening day grosser. Though the first spot on the list is firmly held by Ajay Devgn’s previous release Singham Returns that had collected Rs. 32.09 cr, Golmaal Again has manage to perform better than his other releases like Himmatwala that collected Rs. 12.1 cr, Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 12.10 cr, Satyagraha that collected Rs. 11.21 cr, Son of Sardaar that collected Rs. 10.72 cr, and Action Jackson that collected Rs. 10.25 cr.
But if that wasn’t enough, given the fact that Golmaal Again enjoys the advantage of a holiday release during Diwali, the business of the film is expected to see good growth over its opening weekend. Now all that remains to be seen is whether the business of Golmaal Again manages to surpass Ajay Devgn’s other release to become his highest opening weekend grosser.
