The much talked about Indian superhero film Krrish 3 featuring none other than Hrithik Roshan released on November 1. Despite the film's pre-Diwali and non-holiday release,the gamble has seemingly paid off.
In this edition of Box Office Report Card, we take a look at the Opening Day collections of Krrish 3 as compared to Hrithik's earlier releases, other Diwali releases and Top 10 Opening Day grossers of 2013.
As expected, Krrish 3 that collected Rs. 25.50 crores [Hindi + Tamil + Telugu] on its Opening Day manages to take the top slot beating Hrithik's other films like Agneepath, Kites, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara and Guzaarish. Echoing a similar trend, Krrish 3 even takes the top slot as compared to previous Diwali releases like Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son Of Sardaar, Ra.One and others.
Though the film has opened well, when compared to the Top 10 Opening Day grosser of 2013, Krrish 3 comes in second behind Chennai Express that collected Rs. 33.12 crores, while faring better than Ranbir Kapoor's Besharam that collected Rs. 21.56 crores.
