The Akshay Kumar starrer Bellbottom released over a week ago. Being the first film to release in theatres after, they reopened post the lockdown, all eyes were on the film’s business. After a slow start, the business of the film saw good growth over its opening weekend. In fact, Bellbottom managed to draw in Rs. 12.75 cr. in its opening weekend.
Subsequently, in its first week in theatres, Bellbottom that had to deal with a lowered occupancy rate due to Covid-19 protocols limiting seating to 50%, performed as expected. After collecting Rs. 17.40 cr. in 7 days, the film has now managed to draw in a further Rs. 1.15 cr. on Day 8 taking the Week 1 total to Rs. 18.55 cr.
Currently, with the Amitabh Bachchan – Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre also vying for screen space in the already limited window, Bellbottom faces a bit of competition. However, trade circles states that Bellbottom that comes with positive feedback from both audience and critics alike will eventually emerge victorious. In fact, predictions state that the business of Bellbottom will see growth over the coming weekend.
