Ever since the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic theatres have remained shut, but with the Akshay Kumar starrer Bellbottom heralding the reopening of cinemas, the film industry breathed a sigh of relief. Though things are still a long way from normal, continuing with the forthcoming release list the next film to hit the screens is the Amitabh Bachchan – Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre. Directed by Rumy Jafry the film is said to be a mystery thriller and offers the audience a slight change in pace in theatres.
While most states within the country are yet to relax the Covid-19 protocol, a few have permitted theatres to run night show. However, with the looming threat of the third wave drawing near, the audience are rather reticent when it comes to venturing into crowded places. This along with the fact that due to the extended period of lockdown some screens are yet to resume business, the overall collections of Chehre will definitely be affected. As per trade predictions, Chehre is likely to open around the Rs. 60 lakhs mark on Day 1, with the weekend showing an increase in collections.
