Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal acquired an adult only certificate from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The film has a lot of violence, although it’s justified. On top of that, the runtime of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer is 3 hours 21 minutes long. But despite these factors, Animal not only turned out to be a winner at the box office but also a record-breaking blockbuster. It has earned Rs. 514.09 crores in a span of just 16 days so far.
This has also ensured that the film’s leading lady, Rashmika Mandanna, has made her debut in the coveted Rs. 500 Crores Club. The actress became a sensation down south after making her debut over there in 2016 with Kirik Party. She then became a star in the Hindi belt without starring in any Hindi movie after the Hindi dubbed version of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 became a runaway hit.
And now with the enormous success of Animal, Rashmika has further solidified herself as a star to watch out for, not just in south but Pan-India. The Ranbir starrer happens to be just her second theatrical Bollywood release after Goodbye last year. She was also a pivotal part of Mission Majnu, but that film released directly on OTT.
