Animal Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor starrer becomes the third Bollywood film to have a Rs. 100 cr. worldwide opening after Jawan and Pathan

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna hit screens yesterday. After immense promotions and hype the film, which came with immense expectations attached, opened on a thunderous note. In fact, based on reports Animal witnessed packed theatres on its opening day despite the Adults Only certification. This magnanimous audience response coupled with positive reviews for the film has certainly ensure that its sees collections pouring in.

In this box office report, we look at the worldwide opening day collections of Animal while comparing the same to previous releases that have managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark at the worldwide box office on Day 1. Collecting Rs. 116 cr at the worldwide box office on its opening day, Animal has emerged as the second highest worldwide opening day grosser. Though the collections of the film do not surpass the business of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan which had collected Rs. 128.84 cr worldwide on its opening day, it does manage to out beat the business of Pathaan which had collected Rs. 105.09 cr.

Interestingly, unlike Jawan and Pathaan, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal came with an Adults Only certification, on a non-holiday weekend. Given these factors, the business of the film has gone a long way in proving that despite hurdles films which captivate the audience are sure to see stellar collections.

Currently, Animal continues to run to packed houses with certain locations even adding more shows to compensate for demand. Based on this positive trend advance trade predictions state that the business of Animal is sure to see further growth over its opening weekend.
