The much talked about sports biopic 83 starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev released in December to a good response. After receiving positive reviews from critics the film was much appreciated by the audience as well. However, the business of the film was greatly impacted with the resurgence of Covid-19 which kept overall footfalls low.
Now, with 83 crossing the Rs. 100 cr. mark at the box office, Ranveer Singh has managed to achieve a new high. In fact, Ranveer Singh now joins Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan with six moves each that have achieved this feat. Interestingly, 83, which has managed to draw in Rs. 100.56 cr. has now become the 93rd film to cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark. If that wasn’t all, Ranveer Singh now has six films that have achieved this feat, viz. Padmaavat that collected Rs. 114 cr. by the end of its opening weekend, Simmba that raked in Rs. 114.54 cr. in four days, Bajirao Mastani that drew in Rs. 108.7 cr. by the end of Day 9, and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela that collected Rs. 116.33 cr. by the end of its theatrical run.
