The Ranveer Singh starrer 83 released last month to a positive response from the critics. However, the Kabir Khan directorial was affected due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which affected footfalls in theatres. Now, a few weeks on, the movie has managed to cross the much-coveted Rs. 100 cr. mark.
In this special report we take a look at Kabir Khan’s track record while comparing the same to other directors whose films have made it past the Rs. 100 cr. mark. With 83 collecting Rs. 100.56 cr. in 17 days of its release Kabir Khan now has 4 films that have achieved this feat. Ek Tha Tiger collected Rs. 100.16 cr. by the end of its opening weekend; Tubelight collected Rs. 102.36 cr. by the end of Day 6 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected Rs. 102.60 cr. in three days of its release. Taking the longest to cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark, 83 has accomplished this in 17 days of its release.
If that wasn’t all, Kabir Khan has now surpassed Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ali Abbas Zafar and Rajkumar Hirani who each have three films that have made it across the Rs. 100 cr. mark. Interestingly, with 83 crossing Rs. 100 cr. mark, Kabir now ranks second on the list behind Rohit Shetty who has 9 films that have made it past this mark.
