Everyone's keenly awaiting the verdict on TA RA RUM PUM. Well, the results are out…
U.K.: The much-awaited TA RA RUM PUM has underperformed in U.K. Sure, the opening weekend figure [£ 231,835] looks impressive, but considering it's a Yash Raj film and keeping in mind the number of screens, the weekend figure as also the screen average are lower than their other films. You can gauge the film's performance by going through the comparative charts below each territory and draw your conclusions.
U.S.A.: The U.S. collections of TA RA RUM PUM reflect a similar trend. Released extensively [85 screens], the weekend collections as well as the screen average should've been much higher, but they're not. The comparative figures are an eye-opener.
AUSTRALIA: TA RA RUM PUM has behaved similarly in Australia too. The numbers are not at par with Yash Raj's earlier films.
What's indeed surprising is that TA RA RUM PUM is a bigger film than Siddharth Anand's debut film SALAAM | NAMASTE, but the screen average is lower than SALAAM | NAMASTE at all three major markets -- U.S., U.K. and Australia.
Weekend: April 27 - 29, 2007.
