Overseas: Major disappointments!

Shockingly low - that's the right way to describe the box-office fate of the two major releases, CASH and GANDHI MY FATHER, in U.K. Keeping the screen count in mind [CASH - 29, GANDHI MY FATHER - 36], the two films should’ve embarked on a £ 100,000 + figure at least. Meanwhile, PARTNER continues to perform exceedingly well here.

Weekend: August 3 – 5, 2007.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • CASH has debuted at No. 10 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 54,233 [approx. Rs. 44.27 lacs] on 29 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,870.


  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 15,467; Saturday: £ 22,192; Sunday: £ 16,574.

  • PARTNER [last weekend: No. 7, this weekend: No. 11]: In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 52,719 on 27 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,953. Total: £ 726,283 [approx. Rs. 5.93 crores].


  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 14,209; Saturday: £ 22,246; Sunday: £ 16,264.

  • GANDHI MY FATHER has debuted at No. 12 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 44,248 [approx. Rs. 36.14 lacs] on 36 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,229.


  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 11,698; Saturday: £ 18,569; Sunday: £ 13,981.

  • SHANKAR DADA ZINDABAD has debuted at No. 22 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 9,043 [approx. Rs. 7.39 lacs] on 2 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 4,522.
