wake ups sid has generated quite a buzz.the film is expected to be a complete entertainer as it comes from a reputed production house i.e dharma production.wake up sid has a new story to tell and the story loks very convincing on paper.but its the fantastic screenlay that makes this story even more good on celluloid.the first half is filled of fun and masti moments.the second half gets on to serious note but the film does not loses its charm and even the finale looks very convincing.the love story is also treated with sheer panache.dialouges are good and fantastic at places.backround score is good.music is superb. 'iktara' and 'kya karoon' are the best of all tracks.cinematography is also first rate.direction by debutante ayan mukherjee is superb.he handles the intense as well as the comical moments with outmost conviction.wake up sid also works because of its performances.ranbir kapoor acts like a pro in his third film.his portrayal of sid is very connective and every youngster might relate it to. maturity is seen in his performance and that shows that hes grown a lot from his first film. konkona delivers a knockout performance.she is so simple yet effective as 'aisha'.their chemistry is also rocking.anupam kher is good.supriya pathak is first rate.namit das acts well.shikha talsania is awesome.rahul khanna is decent. kashmira shah acts quite well.kainaz modivala is brilliant in a small role.overall WAKE UP SID is a whiff of fresh air. its entertaining and enlightening at the same time.must watch!!!

After a long time we have a refreshing movie, a clean entertainer that can be watched with family or friends. Produced by Dharma Productions, Wake Up Sid stars Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma in lead roles. Ayan Mukerji directs this feel-good entertainer that does remind you of last year’s super-hit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The movie is about Siddharth Mehra a.k.a Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) who is a rich spoilt brat, but with a heart of gold. The guy lacks motivation in life and is happy spending his father’s hard-earned fortune. His world, like most guys of his age, is surrounded by friends, cars and gaming consoles (in his case Playstation 3 and PSP)! His transformation from a careless, fun-loving college teenager to a mature responsible individual is what Wake Up Sid is all about. Part of the journey is Aisha (Konkana Sen Sharma) and the two ‘different’ personalities become good friends and eventually, without any prizes for guessing, fall in love.

A satisfying movie got arrived finally. Though it's minus of d routine bollywood masala, it still succeeds in gripping the audience for 130 mins. Once in a while you come across a movie which touches your heart, rekindles old memories, and each one will some where say, yeah it happened to me, n tender one?s heart melts. This might remind you of Dil Chahta Hai. Sid is a aimless n carefree college going guy who gets up late, bunks class, spends lakhs of dads money thro credit cards, parties late night with his set of friends, plays x box, clicks photos, fancies suave cars and has lost emotional connection with parents. Feeling de JA vu? Many will! Enter Aish, a total opposite of Sid, whom he befriends and helps her in setting her home. Things take an interesting turn when he comes in face of reality as he tries to transform himself and faces varied dynamics of relationships. Kudos to Ayan Mukherji, one can?t say it is his first film, the deft handling of sequences, the maturity he brings to each role needs appreciation. The way the tenderness of relationships has been brought out is excellent. Scenes between Sid and supriya pathak, Sid and anupam kher, Sid and rishi, Sid and laxmi, are heart warming. What distinguishes it from other movies is even the character which has the least role is well defined and well executed. Romance between the lead pair oozes freshness and is treated sensitively. The music of the movie is in tune with concept. The trio of S-E-L brings out an album which may not be perfect but has its elements. The title song, iktara and kya karoon linger around even after leaving the hall. It's good to see karan johar coming out of his way and making a film with a message. Ranbir Kapoor is excellent; he shows his caliber as an actor once again and gives finesse to his performance. He plays the confused cool dude to the T. Konkana as expected of her delivers a neat performance. Both supriya pathak and anupam kher are outstanding and give a mature performance. Vir das and shikha as Sid's friends show promise. Rahul khanna and kashmira shah leave a mark in their guest appearances. Kainaz is beautiful. On d flip side it is a touch lengthy and cos of the urbane look might appeal only for the multiplex audience. So watch it with your friends and enjoy.

ayan mukharjeee is just a teenager just 3-4 years elder than me and he made such a movie ill give him 5/5 on his work and coming to the movie the movie was decent good story good performances by all the cinematography(anil mehta of veer-zaara fame)was good, music shankar ehsan loy was average but the ishan trivadi's song iktara was very good and his background score also matched the movie but the main thing i didnt like was the lead acterres konkana sen..........her acting was good but any main stream acctress could have beeen casted and karan johar producing the movie and ranbir kapoor the lead anyone would have agreed then why caste this not-so-good-looking actress.........???glamour was not needed but then also any one like priyanka or katrina could hav done it.........the sound mixing was also ok but could have been better..........

People lambast Bollywood for its lack of originality. Once in a while out comes a movie which we find very original and refreshing. We say : “How the hell do these guys come up with such an idea?†Well, answer is very simple. Just look around you, carefully and observantly. Same applies for Wake Up Sid! A simple, yet effective tale. India is a young country. many young people in India, and probably in the other regions of the world, are just clueless about what do they want to do with their lives? This global “issue†is been observed by Ayan Mukherji and beautifully transformed on to the celluloid. Si, the protagonist of the movie, has just finished his final year exams and has no idea of what he wants to be in his life. He doesn’t want to join family business. The only thing he loves is photography. This careless attitude leads him to the heated argument with his dad and he leaves his home, stays with Aisha and tries to find out the real him. The film is very elegant with an excellent blend of emotions and humour. The film is truly a joy ride. The director has masterfully exhibited the relation between a son and his mother who tries to be his friend, a strained relation between a son and a father, who is extremely worried about his son’s careless attitude towards life, a young man’s quest to achieve what he loves. Every week, we are bombarded with movies with concepts nowhere near reality, ad hence we start assuming them to be real. So, all we need is movies like Wake Up Sid! once in while that tells us to introspect ourslef. Spare some precious moments of your life for this gem.

What i loved most in the movie - Wake up Sid, not every one is perfect, there cannot be pure good, pure bad people, it has its own shade of grey, that is what Sid the character is all about. Then, once you realise this, you go out and try and find what you love doing, and do that. Everything else will fall in place. Sid, everyone from family to friends want Siddharth Mehra to do something constructive in life and earn some self - respect and of course money. He has no plans and take life as it comes. Aisha (played by Konkona Sen Sharma), who on the other hand has planned very meticulously, what she wants. I believe that because of Konkona's performance Ranbir's performance was complimentary, rather than other way around. Was it just that Aisha was a much stronger character in the movie. The credit should go to the director to a very large extent, to make one realise, what he is worth does need to go Kargil like Lakshya or Goa like Dil Chahta Hai. You would surprised that once you realise what you want, it was just next door. Loved the way, the house where Konkona stays and they way everything in the studio apartment has been placed - the books (choice of books), the artefacts, the show pieces. The house had no bed, but a bedding that was on the floor. It reminded me of my house in Pune. That's another story. And I just love the music, every well written and woven into the movie, specially "Iktara" that for sure Favourite song, too!! Towards, the end of the movie, you keep thinking did you like the movie, didnt you like the movie. But then the movie is inspiring in work, in love, in relationship.
