Imtiaz Ali is back after LAK which was a superhit.He again comes up with a love story with something different at core,music and fame.. Story is erratic to say at least ,but clearly Imtiaz Ali know what he's doing,he effortlessly brings An above average script to the big screen and result is a good film.Its Ranbir Kapoor show all the way from the word go,he is equally great as a jat boy and a rockstar.His journey from Janardhan to jorden,is inspiring in parts.Few question remain unanswered sure,but at last,they don't matter much to the going ons. Ending will not go down well with everyone \,but in my opinion its apt.It is infact almost a perfect end to the journey of this ROCKSTAR directed by a gifted director Imtiaz Ali. Music was always to be the highpoint,and it is.One of Rahman's best work in recent times. Ranbir is great,this could be a turning point in his career,Nargis looks great but her acting is above ordinary,Aditi Rao Hydari is good,Piyush Mishra is awesome,and same for Kumud Mishra.Special mention for one of the highlight characters,played by legendary Shammi Kapoor,its a treat to watch him again on big screen,and for the last time.His role short but pivotal and he carries it with amazing ease.he is too good. my favourite scene will be the JUGALBANDI or dichotomy of fame,between ranbir and Shammi ji.another highlight sequence is the ending. Its not for everyone,its appeal is limited to youngsters and young at hearts or music lovers,masala film lovers won't actually find it good.Its business will be entirely based on big cities. For some it will be a good one time watch,for some it will be their favourite this year,so the word of mouth will vary,but at the end it is indeed a treat to watch it,due to its cinematography,picturisation and execution. the whole team has put so much love in this films,its hard not to like this film.

firstly i would like to say Taran Adarsh is right.for the first time my views match with him.Rockstar had created so much hype and people had lots of expectations from this one and it partly succeeds partly.it neither disappoints you nor it lives completely to your expectation.the film is made brilliantly.it's a visual treat if one has to describe it in one word.the film is shot very well at some beautiful parts of this World.talking about the performances Ranbir was at his best but he has done slightly better job in his earlier films.but he was good and did complete justice to his role.Nargis was below average.she was good but any other actress could have done better job than her.nothing great about Nargis.music was awesome.there were many songs some were full and some were in parts while some played in background.music was outstanding.direction was up to the mark it was an Imtiaz Ali level direction but it was like his earlier films.screenplay goes haywire in second half and at some places you get bored.that's the only drawback of the film.rest the film was good.a must watch i would say.overall a good film.recommended.

First things first.. Movie is for intelligent moviegoers those who can appreciate the dark side of life and have tasted struggle. Movie is not for those who are used to spoon feeding and useless unfunny comedies. A very well made neat and clean (though few scenes shows the colors of Jangli Jawani that we all have within) movie and profuses inspiration with its acting, direction, music and expressions. Story till "Arsh" from "Farsh" is so smoothly picturized like Teachers or JD flowing through food pipe and just giving its kick slowly. It will take you deep in its own world of music and inspiration that you would stop longing for break. Intelligent screenplay in first half makes its mark, causes delight to mind and treat for heart. A true depiction of artist(not star) or kalakaar comes into second half which shows the rigidity of director in the form of "Jordan" Negative. Expressions of Jordan show that true director like Imtiaz knows the struggle and pain of human life. Yaa second half is somewhat abrupt for the audience and is not so easily digestible and few can find it neat shots. Last half an hour is like nonstop rock show and music takes the all spirit and screen, tries to overtake dialogues and screenplay. Ranbir along with "A. R. Rahman" takes movie to different heights and world where nothing is right and nothing wrong, just only soothing and eternal sound which touches the right chords of soul. Rockstar Rocks

Taran Adarsh should stop Reviewing the movies.He is such a BIAS human being.Please remove him from the position he has............RA.One was given 4.5 stars even though it want a worth of 2.5 He never talked about any loose things or ordinary things abt the movie...& when he is reviewing ROCKSTAR he says he has given 1* extra for some performance and still rates it 3*..utter dismay .soon ppl will stop visiting ur site which is one of teh most visited Bollywood site........I m not a fan of any actor niether I hate SRk.I just love good movies.......but please I follow ur ratings as if thats the final verdict and tehn invest my money in watching the movies...please dont make me bankrupt by doing such BIAS reviews

Rockstar. Rocksss. Ranbirs splendid performance all the way. He makes you feel his character. Nargis is beautiful and does the good job in first movie. Dont beleive the taran adarsh reviews. He just praises KJO and SRK movies even if its the crap like Ra one. Post interval it goes little slow because of emotional sequences.but u will never feel bored.you will love Ranbir . He enacts as a stupid boy,crazy lover,arrogant, egoistic and emotional rockstar very well.
