Sameera Reddy recalls being asked to get a boob job; says, “I had to always pad my chest”

Bollywood celebs, especially actresses, are often body-shamed online and offline. However, there are a couple of actresses, who continued to rule the hearts of the audience without making any changes to their appearance. Being one of them, Sameera Reddy, has always encouraged body positivity through her social media handle. Looking back at her journey, the actress recently revealed that once upon a time, she was asked to get a boob job done.

For the unversed, the De Dana Dan actress was speaking to Mid-Day when she made the above-mentioned revelation. While talking about her self-acceptance journey, the actress recalled starving herself and having one idli a day and ensuring she did not gain weight. She mentioned that she was asked to have corrective surgeries on her body and face.

 

In her words, the Race actress asserted, “I think there was a crazy phase about 10 years ago where everybody was getting plastic surgery, boob job, change nose or bone structure. I had to always pad my chest and was told to get a boob job done. Many times, I would think, 'Should I? Is this the norm?' because it was so openly spoken about and as an actor I questioned if I had to do it. But I didn't and I am so grateful to God I didn't because today I wouldn't have been comfortable about it.”

 

Concluding her take on the same, the Musafir actress added, “There are many people who choose corrective surgery and it is their choice. If it makes them happy, I say live and let live, who are we to judge?”

 

Coming to the professional front, the 44-year-old actress is currently the face of the brand Westside’s Limitless campaign that advocates body positivity and inclusivity. For the same campaign, she will be turning into a podcast host soon.
