On Thursday, Saina Nehwal reacted to a still from her biopic in which Parineeti Chopra plays the lead. She called Parineeti’s look in the film a lookalike of her.

A fan page of actress Parineeti Chopra on Twitter shared the image of the actress as Saina. In the picture she looks serious as she gets ready to serve. “My lookalike @ParineetiChopra #sainamovie,” Saina wrote retweeting the picture.

 

 

The film went on floors last year after Parineeti underwent intense badminton training to get into the skin of the character. Last year in December, Parineeti had met Saina for the first time at the latter's house in Hyderabad. Praising the actress and her determination to pull off a challenging role like this, Saina was quoted as saying, "Playing a sportsperson on screen must be very challenging. I know how tough it must be for her to imitate my style on the court. I just wanted to tell her that I'm with her wherever she needs me. Today, Parineeti knows the lifts, serves and certain shots. She has come a long way in a few months. It will be an emotional moment to see my life unfurl on the big screen."

 

The film captures Saina's journey to World No.1, traveling across countries and locations, raising a toast to the several milestones in her sporting career. Produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar and co-produced by Front Foot Pictures and AGCPL, the film is directed by Amole Gupte.
