Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat trailer: Karan Mehta, Alaya F play struggling lovers in Anurag Kashyap’s unusual romance

After Manmarziyaan, Anurag Kashyap has returned to the romantic genre with a film as uniquely titled as Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat. It brings a fresh pair of Alaya F and debutant Karan Mehta. The trailer of the film, which is just out, is as unconventional as its title.

Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat tells two love stories simultaneously and both star the lead pair. One takes place in the north Indian hill station Dalhousie where a not-so-well-to-do guy, played by Karan, helps out a young student (Alaya) to attend a concert of DJ Mohabbat, who has flown in all the way from Goa.

 

On the other hand, both Alaya and Karan play youngsters staying in a faraway land in London. The guy plays a musical personality and the girl meets him for the first time as his fan. And as luck would have it, the two fall in love. In both the stories, the couples need to cross various hurdles in order to be with each other.

 

 

Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat has Anurag Kashyap’s stamp all over, be it in the characterizations or the conversations between characters. The idea of two parallel love stories that are way different from each other taking place simultaneously is interesting. This brings back memories of Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahaani which had three different love stories taking place in three different eras and all three starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The trailer is enhanced by the track, ‘Mohabbat Se Hi Toh Kranti Aayegi.’

 

Produced by Good Bad Films and Zee Studios, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat will release in theatres on February 3.
