After a two week uninterrupted run at the box office, the Salman Khan - Sonam Kapoor starrer PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO finally faces competition in the form of the latest release TAMASHA that features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. But though the film has been well talked about in the weeks prior to its release, will it actually live up to the magic created by the leading pair Ranbir and Deepika in their previous release YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is the question of the hour.
Reports suggest that TAMASHA that enjoys a solo release has opened on a decent note with the occupancy rate during morning shows showing an approximate 40% occupancy rate. However, low key advance bookings and mixed responses suggest that TAMASHA despite posting decent opening day figures will witness a drop in collections as the weekend progresses.
On the whole, with mixed reviews, TAMASHA much like most Imtiaz Ali films that usually cater to the multiplex going audience will have to rely heavily on positive word of mouth and good reviews to post decent weekend collection figures.
