In Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas played Bhairava, a bounty hunter navigating a dystopian future shaped by mythology and futuristic technology. His character was among the central figures in the film, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. The birthday video offers an early look at the actor’s return to the role, although the makers have not revealed further details about the sequel’s storyline.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD was released in 2024 and drew from Indian mythology to build a science-fiction narrative set in a dystopian world awaiting the arrival of Kalki, the prophesied tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The film went on to receive two National Film Awards, adding to its recognition following its theatrical release.
Details about Kalki 2898 AD 2, including its plot and release date, remain under wraps. The latest video, however, confirms that Prabhas is returning as Bhairava and provides a glimpse of the actor and director working together on the next instalment of the franchise.
