The much-awaited bridal fashion extravaganza, India Couture Week 2018 transpired over a feisty five days at the Capital. The FDCI India Couture Week 2018 presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, at the Taj Palace Hotel, from July 25 to 29 showcased the glorious collections of ten fashion mavericks who created splendour with their handcrafted embroideries and gilded charms. Bollywood rung in its presence as some of the most sought-after ladies turned showstoppers for these feted designers. This season was all about celebrating the robustness of crafts and the power of subtle nuances playing peek-a-boo in the design world with their pleasing silhouettes, as promised by Sunil Sethi, President FDCI. The 11th Edition of FDCI India Couture Week saw the likes of Tarun Tahiliani, Anju Modi, Rahul Mishra, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Shyamal and Bhumika, Rohit Bal, Amit Aggarwal, Pallavi Jaikishan, Reynu Taandon and Suneet Varma. While all chose a Bollywood celebrity to play muses to their stunning creations, some chose to shine alone. Divas like Kangana Ranaut, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, Shilpa Shetty, Aditi Rao Hydari twirled and mesmerized everyone.

India Couture Week 2018 Aditi Rao Hydari for Tarun Tahiliani
Aditi played muse to Tarun Tahiliani as she showcased his collection, Elysium on the opening night. The collection is essentially a celebration of modern Indian goddess and the ethereal lightness of being. Aditi walked the ramp with allure and panache wearing a stunning pink creation. As a woman who knows herself and who looks like herself, and who is not weighed down by the burden of projection, Aditi was a sight to behold.

India Couture Week 2018 Kangana Ranaut for Anju Modi
Kangana walked the ramp for Anju Modi and sported a creation from the collection titled A Maiden’s Prayer. She looked ethereal in the Victorian look and created magic at the runway. A pale coloured lehenga with a velvet embellished cape, a Victorian style hairdo and subtle makeup rounded out her look.

India Couture Week 2018 Kareena Kapoor Khan for Falguni Shane Peacock
Kareena twirled in a gold-toned embellished lehenga featuring a full sleeved choli and well-draped dupatta. Statement earrings were the only accessories of choice she chose to sport. Wavy hair and a severely bronzed face rounded out her look.

India Couture Week 2018 Shilpa Shetty for Amit Aggarwal
Shilpa owned the ramp by wearing a new age corded saree with intricate hand embellishments and signature polymer details from his newest collection named, Crystalis. Strappy sandals, a slick hairdo and a zany ear cuff rounded out her stunning avatar. Metallic sarees a la Amit Aggarwal signature style is a rage and Shilpa Shetty fits the bill of a muse, courtesy her stunning frame and a ravishing persona.
India Couture Week 2018 Kiara Advani for Shyamal and Bhumika
Kiara played muse to Shyamal and Bhumika’s Muse of Mirrors collection wearing an aqua coloured and handcrafted lehenga. A choker necklace, bright lips and sleek hair finished out her look. We love how the colour suits Kiara to the T, in addition to the vintage sleeves of the blouse.

India Couture Week 2018 Yami Gautam for Reynu Taandon
Yami Gautam sashayed down the ramp for designer Reynu Tandon. She wore a stunning and an intricately designed pearl coloured lehenga from the designer’s Once Upon A Dream collection. What we loved the most was the amazing way Yami channelled the chic new short hairdo she recently got for a role with the traditional attire.
