The Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar has achieved yet another feat at the Chinese box office. After opening to a staggeringly high collections two weeks ago, the Advait Chandan directorial that sees Aamir in an extended cameo has now blown past the Rs. 500 crore mark at the China box office.
While initially the business of Secret Superstar recorded higher numbers at the Chinese box office when compared to Aamir Khan’s previous release Dangal, the collections of the film that also stars Zaira Wasim began to witness a dip after its first week running. Despite this the business of Secret Superstar in China has managed to hold its own with new releases hitting screens. In fact, the film that has just finished a two week run at the Chinese box office has managed to perform better than the newly released Hollywood film which is a third instalment in a film franchise.
Currently, Secret Superstar has managed to draw in a further USD 2.79 million [Rs. 17.88 cr] on Day 14, taking its total collections at the Chinese box office past the Rs. 500 crore mark with collections pegged at USD 79.39 million [Rs. 508.92 cr]. However, though the collections of Secret Superstar rank the film as one of the highest grossing Indian releases in China, Aamir Khan’s previous release Dangal retain the lead with a total collection of USD 91.61 million [Rs. 587.17 cr] in 14 days.
