Vidya Balan is keeping the Jailer 2 banter with Rajinikanth alive even beyond the big screen. The actress recently took to social media to share behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film as it completed two weeks in theatres. However, it was her playful caption that caught the attention of fans, bringing back memories of her much-discussed exchanges with Rajinikanth in the film.
The post captioned, “Good evening goes on #TwoWeeks #Jailer2,” references one of the recurring jokes in Jailer 2, featuring the character of Rajinikanth - Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and the character of Vidya - Kantha. In the film, Tiger repeatedly sends “Good Morning” messages to Kantha, but his attempts are met with silence. The simple exchange has since found a life of its own on social media, with audiences turning it into memes and sharing humorous reactions to the characters’ interactions.
Vidya’s latest caption appears to playfully acknowledge the online response, giving fans another reason to revisit the film’s popular moments. By choosing the phrase “Good evening goes on”, the actress has extended the joke beyond the film’s narrative and joined audiences in celebrating the exchange.

The banter between the two characters has emerged as one of the film’s memorable talking points, with the contrast between Tiger’s persistent greetings and Kantha’s lack of response adding a light-hearted element to their interactions. The social media conversations around the exchange have also kept the characters in focus during the film’s theatrical run.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 features Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and Vidya Balan as Kantha. The film marks another appearance of the superstar in the popular franchise, while Vidya’s character adds a fresh dynamic to the story.
As the film completes its second week in cinemas, Vidya’s behind-the-scenes post has given fans a glimpse of the shoot while keeping the much-loved “Good Morning” and “Good Evening” exchange firmly in conversation. And if her latest caption is any indication, the joke is far from over.
