Big B also shares some of the excerpts of the conversation that he had with Spielberg at the event. He posts, "You started as a child with a 8mm camera Mr Spielberg, casting your Mother in perhaps your first attempt at film making, or that, where you were so engrossed and indulgent with two of your toy trains crashing into each other, and filming the event at the cost of losing your 'property', because your Father had warned you that if the trains broke again he would throw the entire mechanism out of the window. The 'ET' that you designed and made so endearing, because your Father again told you that if someone came down from the stars they would be good people, unlike the impression most had of them coming to earth to destroy it. Or, why you never thought of making 'StarWars' because you were more interested in bringing the people in space down to Earth, as opposed to George Lucas, taking everyone billions of miles away from Earth to be in the company of the extra terrestrial. Stars, your Father explained were in the sky and looked beautiful. Why then would they want to come down to hurt, conquer or destroy us. Your great friends - Coppola and Sam Mendes .. Martin Scorsese, Brian de Palma ... all huge and successful makers and the envy that drove each one of you into healthy competition, yet never exhibiting any negativity, despite, as you so frankly put it, the jealousy that you felt towards each other.
My own apprehension as an actor and the elimination of importance towards us as heroes bloomed, because the greatest heroes in cinema were now, thanks to you and others, a fish, a robot, an extra terrestrial being, or a dinosaur !!!! The human had been devoured by a TRex !!
Interesting observations came through by the evening .. I think the invited fraternity felt good ... and then there was dinner and the night came to an end ..."
