What is unique about the images that have been put up at the exhibition? Firstly, very few of the images in the exhibition have been used in our film promotions. These are completely new, unreleased pictures. Secondly, they are not just plain photographs. Most of the pictures are worked upon on Photoshop to create fresh imagery. And together on a composite whole, they present the perspective on how PNC works. PNC’s core motto is ‘Follow Your Dreams’.
Can you tell me about the exhibition that has been organized at The Museum Gallery? For the past six years we have been making movies. We made some 18-19 movies and wanted to put some moments together, some experiences and memories of that process and use that as an opportunity to bring together some of the talents who have worked with us and celebrate the kind of effort that has gone into the kind of cinema that we make.
We have also made a notebook which was published at the exhibition. The notebook also has a lot of imagery and unknown facts about our filmmaking days.
In an unusual exhibition of some of their work over the past six years, trying to evolve the language of a new and contemporary Indian cinema, film production house Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) has put together a collection of striking visual images that will be shown at The Museum Gallery, Kala Ghoda in Mumbai from September 4 to 9. The show featuring a variety of work emanating from the PNC art studio, celebrating PNC films, as diverse as Kaante, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Jhankaar Beats, The Mystic Masseur, Bollywood Calling, Just Married, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is curated by Ishita Pritish Nandy and shows how Brand PNC has grown be in such a short time one of Bollywood’s biggest and most successful brands through a portfolio of exciting new cinema.
The exhibition covers the six year journey during which PNC has emerged from a television content company into one of Indian Cinema’s most creative and innovative film makers, now diversifying into animation movies and boutique theatres as well.
We caught up with the head honcho of PNC, Pritish Nandy, on the occasion who shared with us, the idea behind having this photo exhibition and some of the memories related to the pictures.

One of the coolest images is of you standing with the Kaante gang… That picture was shot just after the famous Kaante walk. We just wanted to test shoot and we wanted to show the bonhomie and camaraderie between all of us over there. I am a very reluctant candidate to be a part of such a movie styled picture but the team convinced me to pose for it.
Which are your favourite images from the lot? I like the Kaante image of course. But I also like Priyanka Chopra’s images from Sahib, Biwi Aur Gulam and also Fardeen’s image from Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.
