The mercury levels are at an all time high this summer and we are sure that most of us feel like just taking a dip in the pool to beat the heat. The cast of the upcoming film Shaitan were lucky as they got a chance to shoot a song sequence underwater. We bring you some stills from the same:
Speaking about the underwater scene, director Bejoy Nambiar says, "The scene is a part of a song montage sequence where we see the group of Kalki Koechlin, Shiv Pandit, Kirti Kulhari, Neil Bhoopalam and Gulshan Devaiya having fun underwater. The song 'Josh' begins with Kalki jumping into the pool while the rest follow suit."
The song was shot at a swimming pool in one of the schools of suburban Mumbai. Speaking about how they managed to shoot underwater, Bejoy says, “We wanted to go for the underwater camera set-up but it was way too expensive. We were lucky to find a school which had a swimming pool with a floor below it. The floor is actually built for the instructors to check the form of their students while swimming. So the camera crew was positioned in the floor below the pool and we managed to shoot through the transparent glass. It was a one-of-a-kind experienceâ€
As luck would have it, not all of the cast members were swimmers. Says Bejoy, "Gulshan was a non-swimmer and could barely swim. Every time he struggled to stay afloat, Kalki pulled him up by his hair to the nearest ladder."
