You queue up in the cold, brave the winds, sip a cup of hot coffee, pay at the till and enter the world famous Madame Tussaud's in London to have a glimpse of your favourite stars, whom you admire and look up to. But have you ever wondered that what looks all so classy, stylish and eye catchy is just the final product. A lot of commitment and hard work is involved in making it. Here we look at some of the exclusive pictures of the making of the wax face of the talented international singer Beyonce, hence showing the entire process of how the sculpture is created.
The team at Madame Tussauds has been known for creating the most life like wax figures in the world. So, after taking the measurements of the face, selecting the eye and deciding what hair color matches that of the celebrity, the first look is created by making a clay face.
The famous saying 'If your head is wax, do not walk in the sun', means that if your head is made of wax, you will stay stressed. Well, come January 15, this saying will not stand true because Bollywood's very own bad boy Salman Khan is going to be immortalized in wax in London's Madame Tussaud's. As we all know by now that Salman Khan is only the fourth Bollywood actor to achieve this recognition after Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, but what we all still don't know is the process, the method, the detailing and the hard work which goes in making these beautiful wax figures. Bollywood Hungama’s Devansh Patel goes behind the scenes and behind the closed doors of Madame Tussauds to bring you the first ever look at how exactly these wax celebrities come to life.
Who can forget the path where Bollywood's Badshah, King Khan (Shah Rukh) walked to unveil his dimpled faced wax look alike? The picture you are seeing is the same path where Shah Rukh Khan walked on April 3, 2007 to grace the occasion. I call it 'The path of success' and on Jan 15, 2008 it will be none other than Salman Khan walking down the same glittery pathway to meet and greet his fans and the world media...and of course, his Judwaa (the wax statue).
Ahh!! Finally, here is the Bollywood section of the museum. This picture shows all our three Bollywood icons Aishwarya Rai (left), Amitabh Bachchan (right) and Shah Rukh Khan (middle). The question is where will Sallu bhai stand? Well, definitely not next to Aishwarya or else Father-in-law Mr. Bachchan's statue might just about come to life.
That's Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan for you. The statuette has all the minutest details taken care of, be it Ash’s earring to her necklace to her red embroidered sari and last but not the least, her signature smile with the look in her eyes. Surely, this ‘Umrao Jaan’ has become Tussaud's jaan now.
Plastic placards of Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai depicting their brief introduction are kept along side their wax figures for those who are unfamiliar with the famous faces of the world's biggest film industry - Bollywood.
