While last week’s release JAGGA JASOOS failed to entice the audiences to the theatres, this week, Sabbir Khan is coming up with the quintessential Bollywood masala entertainer MUNNA MICHAEL. While the Tiger Shroff and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer promises to take you through a journey of dance and action, yet another Bollywood release this week is the much controversial film LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA.
According to recent reports, MUNNA MICHAEL has opened to an occupancy rate of 18 % during morning shows across varied locations. Considering that the film features Tiger Shroff who is known for his dancing skills and high octane stunts along with a powerful actor like Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the antagonist, by far, MUNNA MICHAEL is expected to grow. On the other hand, Alankrita Shrivastava’s LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA is quite niche in its approach and mostly appeals to only a certain spectrum of audience, mainly the multiplex going viewers. While the film too has a fair number of morning shows, the occupancy rate doesn’t go beyond 5%.
Besides these, yet another release is the Hollywood film DUNKIRK, a much awaited war drama directed by the famous filmmaker Christopher Nolan. The film as of now seems to be acting as a crowd puller especially in IMAX theatres and it is expected to grow during the evening and night shows.
On the whole, although MUNNA MICHAEL has had a slow start, the film is expected to grow over the weekend and LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA too is expected to see a slight growth. However, MUNNA MICHAEL has to heavily rely on positive word of mouth. Meanwhile, DUNKIRK will also be pulling audiences especially in the metros.
