The much-awaited Hollywood biggie MAN OF STEEL took a head start in the morning shows, leaving the new Hindi releases, FUKREY and ANKUR ARORA MURDER CASE, way behind. The market for Hollywood films continues to grow with each passing year and the super start of this film, therefore, doesn't come as a surprise. This film, besides YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, are expected to dominate the marketplace, as per initial trends.
Amongst Hindi releases, FUKREY started on a slow note, but was slightly better in North India due to the Punjabi flavour. However, the screening was called off in a couple of cineplexes due to technical issue. In any case, the film was not expected to start with a bang, but grow with word of mouth subsequently. The reviews have been extremely positive and the word of mouth is encouraging too, so one hopes that the praise translates into BO figures.
ANKUR ARORA MURDER CASE too is a word of mouth film and though the start has been way below the mark, it should pick up over the weekend, since the pre-release screenings had met with favourable response.
Fukrey collects Rs. 3.10 cr on Saturday. Total collection of Fri and Sat is Rs. 5.72 cr .
