Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's new release DELHI 6 opened to a 60% - 70% response at some multiplexes. The film was best at a handful of plexes in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Even an 'A' class centre like Kolkata opened to a lukewarm response. At a majority of centres, the business was 25% - 30%. The single screens were even lower. This writer spoke to several distributors/exhibitors of various territories and the feedback is negative. The indications are, the business is expected to fall on Saturday.
The below-the-mark start of DELHI 6 will hit Abhishek Bachchan hard. After the financial setback of DRONA, which was a solo hero project, Abhishek had to prove his mettle with DELHI 6. But Abhishek hasn't been accepted in the film, plus the business is on the lower side.
