Had someone mentioned prior to the release of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke that it would have a lifetime of Rs. 30 crores then it would have been considered as a good score. After all, this one is a mid-budget film which has good recovery from music, satellite and OTT, so from theatrical business perspective even Rs. 20-25 crores would have been a safe bet.
However, what’s currently happening calls for a celebration for the makers of this family comedy drama as Rs. 30 crores mark has been crossed in 5 days flat and now the film will do close to double of that in its lifetime run. Yes, you read it right. The film is aiming for a final close of Rs. 55-60 crores and that would qualify it as a clear hit. Also, it’s not a post-pandemic hit we are taking about; it would have been counted as a hit even pre-pandemic.
All of this has been made possible by the acceptance that the Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer is getting on the weekdays as well. After Monday collections of Rs. 4.14 crores, the film has held quite well on Tuesday too with Rs. 3.87 crores coming in. That’s superb because as long as over Rs. 3 crores keep coming till Thursday, it would be fantastic. So far, the Laxman Utekar directed film has brought in Rs. 30.60 crores and by the time the first week is through, Rs. 37 crores mark would have been comfortably crossed.
