After opening well on Wednesday, seeing a dip on Thursday, stabilising on Friday, growing well on Saturday and then seeing further incremental improvement on Sunday, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is coming on its own during the weekdays. It did have a drop on Monday but then Tuesday hold was good and same is the case on Wednesday as well. Though it has been a bit of an uneven journey for the film since its release, the good news is that it has never went below the safety line and that has allowed an overall decent to good number to have come in.
This can well be seen from the fact that Monday collections stood at Rs. 5.70 crores.* and that’s quite good considering Monday was Rs. 6.05 crores. The drops are hardly there on the weekdays and it would be the same today as well since the stabilisation factor is working well for the Luv Ranjan directed rom-com. All eyes will be in fact be on how the collections sustain tomorrow since three new films arrive - Kabzaa, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway and Zwigato. Though none of these would end up putting the box office on fire from the opening show itself, at the end of the day there are indeed more options available for the viewers.
Still, with Rs. 88.01 crores* in its kitty so far, the film is now headed well to enter the 100 Crore Club on Saturday and then add more by the time the second weekend is through. 130 crores lifetime is now a given for the film though given the kind of trending that has been seen for some of the accepted films in the past that keep collecting over a period of time, the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer can extend their collections even further.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
