The Sidharth Malhotra – Ajay Devgn starrer Thank God which has been making news in the run up to its release hit screens yesterday on Diwali. Also featuring Rakul Preet Singh the film was expected to start off on a decent note, thanks to the festive occasion of Diwali and of course the novel concept of the film. Collecting Rs. 8.10 cr Thank God has managed to surpass the business of Ek Villain Returns which collected Rs. 7.05 cr to emerge as the thirteenth highest opening day grosser of 2022. When compared to previous non-dubbed Hindi releases Thank God ranks as the eleventh highest opening day grosser of 2022. Interestingly, a major chunk of the film’s opening day business came in from spot booking with evening and night shows indicating a good jump in collections. Given this trend and the fact that the film which released on Tuesday enjoys an extended weekend it is sure to see a good increase in collections.
