Just a couple of days back Bollywood Hungama had predicted that Sooryavanshi that has been doing roaring business was highly likely to set yet another record for Akshay Kumar. In fact, we had predicted that the Rohit Shetty film would estimatedly rake in between Rs. 11 – 12 cr. on its third weekend to become Akshay’s highest third weekend grosser.
Collecting Rs. 12.36 cr. Sooryavanshi has overshadowed the collections of Akshay Kumar’s previous releases like Mission Mangal that collected Rs. 9.09 cr., Good Newwz that had collected Rs. 8.73 cr., Airlift that collected Rs. 8.41 cr., and Kesari that had collected Rs. 7.50 cr. to become the actor’s All-Time highest third weekend grosser.
Interestingly, the business of Sooryavanshi saw a spurt in collections over its third weekend despite the release of the Saif Ali Khan – Rani Mukerji starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2 hitting screens. Going forward, trade predictions state that the business of Sooryavanshi that continues to remain as the audience's first choice in theatres will remain steady.
