SS Rajamouli's much awaited period drama, RRR has created history at the box office with a global gross of Rs. 710 crores, which is among the highest ever of all time. The film is competing globally with just Baahubali 2, as it has zoomed past all the lifetime collections of Indian films (barring Chinese run) apart from the SS Rajamouli directorial with Prabhas.
The movie has collected approximately $21 million (Rs. 160 crores) in the overseas belt whereas the domestic belt has clocked a total of Rs. 560 crores. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were the best faring circuits for RRR, with a gross of Rs. 250 crores, whereas the Hindi version has given an opening week gross of Rs. 154 crore. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have given another Rs. 100 crore, with the rest of the markets putting up a total in the range of Rs. 50 crore.
The movie is running riot all across the globe with overseas belts nearing the break even point. Even the Hindi version distributors will reach the break even mark in the next few days, and then it will be a race to the finish for the distributors in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The hope is for each and every stakeholder to be in the black by the time RRR ends its run. Kerala and Tamil Nadu too will hit the success mark by the end of the second weekend. Ditto for Karnataka.
From the second weekend, Hindi version will be taking reigns from all others as this has been the best trending circuit for RRR. Hindi market has been like a cash rich cow which is giving better than expected dividends.
