The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR featuring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn was released last week on Friday. The film which hit 8000 screens in the domestic market opened with a bang. After a stellar opening weekend the business of RRR remained steady on its first Monday drawing in a further Rs. 17 cr. With this the total business of the film is currently pegged at Rs. 91.50 cr.
In this box office report, we take a look at the first Monday collections of RRR, while comparing the same to releases that have hit screens post the pandemic. Not surprisingly, RRR has emerged as the highest first Monday grosser post the pandemic. In fact, the business of the film has surpassed the collections of the previously release films like The Kashmir Files that collected Rs. 15.05 cr, the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi that collected Rs. 14.51 cr, the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi that collected Rs. 8.19 cr, and the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 that collected Rs. 7.29 cr.
Going forward, the business of RRR is predicted to see further growth with each passing day. Estimated to enter the highly coveted Rs. 100 cr club by the end of Day 5, trade predictions state that the business of RRR will cross the Rs. 150 cr mark by the end of its first week in theatres.
